PROJECT OVERVIEW
For this project a group of student designers and myself rebranded The Art Centers branding, a local non-profit arts organization in Corvallis Oregon. Corvallis We were tasked with creating a new logo for their organization, a new look and feel for their overall branding and a 'toolkit' which could be given to donors full of branded materials. We created a logo inspired by the centers unique architecture. For our deliverables we created a series of branded bags, art supplies, and art kits. We also created a coloring book which contains murals that can be found around Corvallis. The branding was deeply personal to the non-profit and spoke to the larger community as well.
Programs Utilized: Adobe Illustrator & InDesign
Design Team: Riley Maasdam, Allie Webb-Bowen, Brinley Mortensen, Rain Scarborough, Alexis Bravo Mota
FINAL DELIVERABLES
My primary role within this project, past the ideation phase was the creation of the Creative Connects branding guide. The slides embody the brand through their design, and explain its constraints and elements through their content.
PROCESS
INSPIRATION To begin the process of rebranding The Art Center we visited it in-person. We all left very inspired by the buildings architecture. The windows and vaults of the building heavily inspired my logo designs.
LOGO DESIGN Inspired by the architecture of the building I designed the logos seen below and to the left. Each member of our design team brought their logo ideation with them, and we ultimately decided to move forward with my logo design. Further ideation of the chosen logo can be seen to the right. The chosen colors are a reference to a simplified version of The Art Centers current color scheme which is a reference to the color wheel and basic color theory.
TOOLKIT PROTOTYPES Below are images of prototypes and in-progress versions of our toolkit items. Before committing to a size and placement we tested multiple orientations and versions of our logo on our toolkit items.
